Zealand, with lush, fertile fields, woods

Bornholm
Bornholm is
the island of contrasts. Despite it's
size, the island's nature is so varied,
it's like is hard to find. The steep,
rugged cliffs of the north coast become
gentle landscapes. These in turn change to
dunes and miles of beaches on the south
coast with the finest sand in Europe.
Throughout the years, the island has
attracted artists like a magnet. The sea,
cliffs, stillness and, most of all, the
light are the most important sources of
inspiration. Arts and crafts of the
highest quality are produced by
glassblowers, potters, etc.
Beaches
Bornholm can
offer the loveliest of beaches with fine
sand and shallow waters, ideal for
families with young children.
Attractions
Smokehouses
You
haven't been to Bornholm if you haven't
tried a smoked herring at one of the
island's smokehouses. You mustn't cheat
yourself of this tasteful dish.
Attractions

the island.
Fanψ
The changing
scenery and the hospitality of the people
of Fano make this island in the North Sea
a holiday location you will want to return
to again and again. Years ago, Fano was no
more than a sandbank, but it is now a
pearl of nature amongst the 42 islands
which, together with the old, idyllic
harbour villages of Nordby and Sonderho,
once the home for the great fleets of
sailing ships, form the setting for a
fantastic holiday.
Beaches,
dunes and marshlands
You
can spend many wonderful hours on Fano's
many kilometres of wide, sandy beaches.
Just as gentle as the sea can be on a
warm, quiet, summer day, just as harsh and
powerful it can be, when experienced
during the autumn or winter.
The Kite
Festival
Each year in
June(16.6-19.6.05), one of the largest
kite festivals in northern Europe is held
on Fano. On the beach, you can experience
a sky almost blocked out with kites of all
sizes and colours.
Sporting
Life
On Fano, you
can participate in almost all forms of
sport: tennis, bowling, windsurfing, beach
sailing, kite flying, riding and golf are
just some of the many possibilities for an
active holiday. |
